UWS is divided in four different campuses
located in the following cities: Paisley, Ayr, Dumfries and Hamilton. Each
campus has its own features because of the differences among these cities. For
example, the Paisley campus is more urbanistic while Dumfries is more
picturesque. However, I’m going to focus in explain things about the Paisley
Campus because it is the one in which I’m doing my Erasmus mobility stay.
The university campus situated in Paisley is
the largest one of the four, it occupies over 20 acres. The University is huge
and is divided in more than fifteen buildings, but don’t worry all are
together. At the arrival, it will be given to you a map like this.
As
you can see, each building has a letter assigned. So if you have class, for
example, at the room J212, first you will have to find building J, then you
will have to go to second floor because the number that follows the letter J is
a 2. And finally to find the room you just have to follow the signs that there
are in the walls. During the first days, for me, it was like a maze but finally
I got used to it.
Most of the bachelor degrees are taught in this
campus and it offers a wide range of facilities and services that I will
explain in another post. I also would like to say that the environment of the
campus is excellent to have a great studying experience. It is full of young
people and staff that can help you with any doubt.
The campus is located five minutes’ walk from
the city center of Paisley and approximately 18 km from Glasgow, so in ten
minutes by train you can be at Glasgow. Moreover, all the facilities are near
and you can easily find accommodation near the campus.
With the following map, you can see the location of the Paisley campus.
